New Delhi. Volodymyr Zelensky, who has been on the backfoot for the last two and a half years in the Russia-Ukraine war, is now giving a befitting reply to Putin and company by coming on the front-foot. After entering Russia and attacking about a week ago, Ukraine has now bombed the capital Moscow. Vladimir Putin would not have even dreamed that Ukraine could enter so deep into his country and launch a drone attack. The Russian army admitted on Wednesday that Ukraine carried out the biggest drone attack on Moscow for the first time since the war began in 2022. However, it was also claimed that all their drones have been destroyed.

Ukraine is trying to capture as much Russian land as possible so that when it comes to mutual agreement, it can get back its land occupied by Russia. Experts believe that this is the reason why Ukraine has now attacked Russia with the help of America and other Western countries. Russia’s Defense Ministry said that Moscow destroyed 45 drones of Ukraine overnight. It was claimed that 11 drones were destroyed over the Moscow region while 23 drones were destroyed in the Bryansk region, six in Belgorod, three in Kaluga and two in the Kursk region.

What did the Mayor of Moscow say?
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on his Telegram channel, “This was one of the biggest attempts to attack Moscow through drones so far.” He said that all the drones were destroyed due to the strong defense system built around the capital Moscow. Drones can be seen being destroyed by air defense systems on some Russian social media channels.

Russia is struggling to regain its land…
The attack comes as Russia is advancing in eastern Ukraine, where it controls about 18 percent of the territory. It is struggling to fend off Ukraine’s attack in its Kursk region, the largest foreign attack on Russian territory since World War II. Russian media shared footage of a drone circling in the skies over the Moscow region and then being shot down in a fireball by air defenses. Moscow airports Vnukovo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky restricted flights for four hours but had resumed normal operations from 0330 GMT, the Russian aviation regulatory body said.
