Tilak Verma and Varun Chakraborty have made a long jump in the ICC rankings.

New Delhi. Varun Chakraborty and Tilak Verma, who are performing tremendously against England, have made a long jump in the ICC rankings. Tilak Verma has moved to second place in the list of batters in the ICC’s T20 rankings on Wednesday. Mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty has joined the top-5 in the list of bowlers with a long jump of 25 places.

Tilak Verma is now just behind the Travis Head in the list of batsmen. Travis Head of Australia has a 23 point lead over Tilak Verma. Left -arm Indian batter is currently in great form and he has scored an unbeaten 19, unbeaten 72 and 18 in India’s current T20 series against England. Tilak also scored two centuries on the South African tour.

Two matches are yet to be played in the current series between India and England. Tilak Verma has a chance to overtake Travis Head and become the youngest player to reach number one in the ranking. This record is currently recorded in the name of Babar Azam of Pakistan, who reached number one at the age of 23 years and 105 days.

Tilak Verma’s current rating of 832 points is the fourth largest rating achieved by an Indian batsman in the history of T20 international cricket. In T20 format, only Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been able to get more rating points from India. Abhishek Sharma has jumped 59 places to reach 40th position. Liam Livingstone of England has got the benefit of five (now 32nd place) and Ben Docket 28 places (68th).

Varun Chakraborty, who took five cricket for 24 runs in the third match against England, has joined the top five bowlers in the bowlers’ rankings with his charismatic performance. Akshar Patel has reached the 11th position up five places. Adil Rashid of England has reached the top again on the basis of good performance against India. Earlier, he reached number one in 2023.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah, who performed brilliantly in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, has retained his top position in the Test bowlers rankings. In the list of all -rounders in Test cricket, West Indies’ Joler Warikan has moved up to 24th position. England’s root remains on top in the batting rankings in Test cricket.
