New Delhi. Star batsman Shreyas Iyer, who is out of Team India, is currently playing in the Duleep Trophy. Iyer played his last international test in February this year. After this, he never got a chance in the Test team. After scoring a half-century in his first match in the Duleep Trophy, he got out on zero in the first innings of the second match. Iyer lost his wicket cheaply in the match being played between India A and India D.
Actually, Shreyas Iyer came to bat at number three for India D. Iyer lost his wicket at zero. He got caught by Aqib Ahmed on the ball of Khalil Ahmed. Iyer faced a total of 7 balls. In which he could not score a single run. Iyer was not even given a chance in the team for the recent Test series against Bangladesh.

Before the Duleep Trophy, it was believed that this Mumbai batsman could make a comeback in the Test team but it did not happen. He could not live up to the expectations of the selectors with his performance. Shreyas Iyer scored 9 runs in the first innings while captaining Group D in the first match of the Duleep Trophy. However, he led from the front in the second innings and scored a brilliant fifty. But this innings of Shreyas proved insufficient to be included in the Test squad.

Iyer was also included in Team India for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. But he performed poorly there too. He could score only 23 runs in the first ODI. After this, his double digit score also turned into a single. He was out for 7 runs in the second ODI and 8 runs in the third ODI.
