The stock market witnessed a decline today i.e. on 5th September. The Sensex closed at 82,201 with a decline of 151 points. At the same time, the Nifty also fell by 53 points and closed at 25,145.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 21 fell and 9 rose. Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 33 fell and 17 rose. Cipla was the top Nifty loser.
Mixed trading in Asian markets
- Reliance, Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors pulled the market down. Reliance contributed the most to the fall of the market with 125.77 points. Whereas, Titan, ITC and Infosys pulled the market up.
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei fell 1.05% and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.075%. China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.14% and Korea’s Kospi fell 0.21%.
- According to NSE data, foreign investors (FIIs) bought shares worth ₹975.46 crore on September 4. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth ₹97.35 crore.
- On September 4, the Dow Jones of the US market rose 0.09% and closed at 40,974. Whereas the Nasdaq fell 0.30% and closed at 17,084. The S&P500 closed at 5,520 with a fall of 0.16%.
Reliance’s board approves bonus shares The board of Reliance Industries has today, on September 5, approved the issuance of bonus shares to shareholders in the ratio of 1:1. 1:1 ratio means that eligible shareholders will get one share of Reliance Industries in exchange for one.
