Today, on January 10, the last trading day of the week, the Sensex is trading at the level of 77,860 with a rise of more than 250 points. Nifty is also up by 60 points, it is trading at the level of 23,580.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 17 are declining and 13 are rising. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 28 are declining and 23 are rising. In the NSE sectoral indices, except the IT sector, all are trading with a decline.
Mixed business for Asian markets
- In the Asian market, Japan’s Nikkei fell by 0.49% and Korea’s Kospi rose by 0.11%. At the same time, China’s Shanghai Composite Index is trading with a decline of 0.41%.
- According to NSE data, on January 9, foreign investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 7,170.87 crore. During this period, domestic investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 7,639.63 crore.
- On January 9, the American stock markets remained closed in mourning the death of former President Jimmy Carter. He lived to be 100 years old and was the longest-lived president in American history.
Laxmi Dental’s IPO will open on January 13

The market closed with a decline yesterday
Earlier yesterday i.e. on January 9, the Sensex had fallen by 528 points and closed at the level of 77,620. Nifty also fell by 162 points, it closed at the level of 23,526. At the same time, BSE Smallcap fell by 640 points and closed at the level of 54,021.
Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 were in decline and 9 were up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 34 were in decline and 16 were up. Whereas, one stock closed without any change. In the NSE sectoral index, the realty sector closed with the biggest decline of 2.73%.
