Skoda India has unveiled its latest offering in the compact SUV lineup, the Kylak, with a starting price of ₹7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This SUV will compete with Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue. Bookings for Kylac will begin on December 2, and public demonstrations are scheduled for the India Mobility Expo in Delhi on January 17, 2025.

The Kylaq comes with a distinct design language that comprises a length of 3,995 mm, width of 1,783 mm and height of 1,619 mm, offering a competitive stance in this segment. The car rides on a wheelbase of 2566 mm and boasts of a practical ground clearance of 189 mm, which is ideal for Indian road conditions. Inside, the boot space of 446 liters can expand to 1,265 liters when the rear seats are folded, providing ample space for long distance journeys.

One of the best features of the Kylac is its modern interiors which feature tech upgrades like a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 8-inch digital MID, wireless charging and six-way power-adjusted seats for both the driver and passenger. Safety features include six airbags, traction control, brake disc wiping and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which aims to set new standards in its segment.
Under the hood, the Kylac is powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder TSI petrol engine, which generates 115 horsepower and 178 Nm of peak torque. Buyers have the option of a manual or automatic gearbox, but there are no additional engine variants currently available. Further adding to the appeal, Skoda has introduced a new Olive Gold color as the signature shade of Kylak.
Skoda aims to expand its service network across India from 260 to 350 touchpoints by 2025. With its competitive pricing, advanced features and strong after-sales plan, the SUV is set to become a strong contender in India’s compact SUV market.
