In this, he told that he is retiring from international and domestic cricket. In the video, Dhawan also remembered his childhood coach, and also thanked BCCI and his fans.

In a video posted on his X handle, Shikhar Dhawan said, “I am retiring from domestic and international cricket.” He further said, “When I am saying goodbye to my cricket journey, I have a peace in my heart that I played a lot for my country and I am very grateful to BCCI and DDCA who gave me a chance and to all my fans who gave me so much love.”

Remembering childhood coach

Shikhar Dhawan said that “I always had one goal, to play for India and that happened, for which I am thankful to many people. First of all my family, my childhood coach Tarak Sinha ji, Madan Sharma ji, under whom I learned cricket, then my team with whom I played for years.”

Shikhar Dhawan made his international debut in the year 2010. He played his first match against Australia in Visakhapatnam. Dhawan has scored more than 10 thousand runs in international cricket, including 24 centuries and 44 half-centuries. Dhawan has played 34 Tests, 167 ODIs and 68 T20 matches from 2010 to 2022.
