Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League in Bangladesh may be banned from joining the upcoming election. Mahfooz Alam, advisor to the interim government Chief Mohammad Yunus, claimed this at an election rally on Saturday.
Mahfooz Alam said that only Pro-Bangladeshi parties will be allowed to contest elections. Khaleda Zia’s Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh parties will be able to maintain their politics.
Alam said that only these parties can do Shashan through fair elections in the country. He described the Awami League Party as anti -Bangladesh and fascist and said that this party would not be allowed to re -flour.
Mahfooz Alam, while addressing a rally in Chandpur, claimed not to contest the election of Awami League again.
Alam said- Elections only after fixing the mistakes of Sheikh Hasina Mahfooz Alam also said that until the ‘necessary improvement’ is done and the mistakes of the Hasina government are not corrected, till then there will be no election in the country. Two days ago, Mohammad Yunus said that the country could have general elections in December 2025 or January 2026. Mahfooz said-

Mahfuz Alam is the master mind of student movement After the formation of the interim government in Bangladesh, Mahfooz Alam got the post of Special Assistant. After some time he got the post of advisor in the cabinet. Last year, during an event at the United Presidential Mahasabha, Mohammad Yunus praised Mahfooz Alam and described him as the ‘master mother’ of the student movement.
Yunus said that it was difficult to uproot the Sheikh Hasina government without Mahfuz Alam. More than 100 cases have been filed against Hasina since Mohammad Yunus took power in Bangladesh. If the Awami League is prevented from contesting elections, Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Jamaat -e -Islami and Mohammad Yunus -backed party can get an edge.
