Shane Warne’s death felt like losing a family member – Indian spinner’s pain

Melbourne. ‘With the death of Shane Warne two years ago, I felt as if I had lost a member of my family.’ Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav said this. Chinaman spinner Kuldeep is currently in Australia. He visited the home ground of his idol cricketer, Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and also took a photo with the statue of Shane Warne outside the stadium.

Kuldeep Yadav said, ‘Shane Warne was my idol and I had a very deep relationship with him. Whenever I think about Warne, I get emotional. It feels like I have lost someone from my family.’ Australia’s legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne died of a heart attack in 2022 while vacationing in Thailand.

This visit of Kuldeep, who was a member of the T20 World Cup winning Indian team, is happening a few months before the Border Gavaskar Trophy starting in Perth on November 22. He said, ‘I am waiting for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. We are expecting a tough competition between Australia and India this year.’

Kuldeep also visited the Cricket Australia (CA) headquarters and interacted with CEO Nick Hockley online. He also thanked Indian cricket fans for always supporting the team. Kuldeep said, ‘Indian cricket fans around the world always support the team. I am confident that they will come here in large numbers for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, especially the Boxing Day Test match.’ The Boxing Day Test match will be played in Melbourne from December 26.
