Not only this, a compensation of Rs 50 crore has also been demanded. This legal notice has been sent through Advocate Khalid Zaman Khan to former military officer of Pakistan and Chief Public Relations Officer of Metropolitan Corporation Lahore, Tariq Majeed.
The notice states that Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan Chairman Imtiaz Rashid Qureshi is a patriot. He is honest towards the country and Islam. He has not taken even a single penny from India or abroad for the foundation. According to the notice, Qureshi is trying to bring India and Pakistan closer. So that common people can get benefit.

The language of the report presented in the court is wrong
Qureshi’s notice said that Majeed had used extremely wrong and objectionable language in his report presented in the Lahore High Court in November. The former Pakistani Army officer had called Bhagat Singh a terrorist during the hearing of the case related to changing the name of Shadman Chowk in Lahore to Bhagat Singh in the High Court.
He also told that the Government of Pakistan has canceled the plan to change the name of the Chowk and install the statue. Also the Foundation had decided to fight a legal battle in this matter. The case related to this will be heard on January 17.

India has expressed its objection
As soon as this matter came to light, the Punjab government on behalf of India had expressed strong objection to it. Also demanded from the Central Government that this matter should be taken up with the Government of Pakistan. After this, the Government of India raised this matter with the Government there.
