New Delhi. Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has not played any good innings so far on the current tour against Australia. The decision of this stalwart, who missed the first match of Border Gavaskar Trophy due to the birth of his son, may cost heavily on Team India. When Rohit Sharma was not with the team, KL Rahul along with Yashasvi Jaiswal opened for the team and played a composed innings in difficult situations. This star player, who was continuously scoring runs, was removed by captain Rohit Sharma from the opening in the fourth test and came himself but he flopped.

The captain of the Indian team is struggling to score runs in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. After flopping in the middle order in the initial matches, he took a decision in the fourth match which was surprising. KL Rahul batted brilliantly for India in this series and helped the team in difficult times. The batsman who scored the most runs from India’s side was pushed down by the captain due to his arbitrariness and went to open the opening himself. In the first innings of the Melbourne Test, they returned after scoring just 3 runs in the second over. KL Rahul had to come on the field in the third over itself.

Rohit’s arbitrariness, removed KL from opening
For India, KL Rahul, who has consistently done well in the opening in this series, should open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Be it India or Australia, former cricketers of both the teams had one opinion. Before the start of India’s innings, Sanjay Manjrekar clearly said that Rohit Sharma should not start the innings. KL Rahul has batted very well and the opening pair should not be broken.

Irfan Pathan said that if a pair is doing well on a foreign tour then there should be no need to change it. KL Rahul has done very well as an opener on this tour so far. His pairing with Yashasvi Jaiswal was good so Rohit Sharma should not have changed it.
