New Delhi. Sanju Samson scored a record-breaking century in the first T20 against South Africa. India got a strong victory on the basis of Samson’s brilliant innings. Sanju has become the first Indian to score back to back centuries in T20 International cricket. The right-handed star batsman scored a century in 47 balls. This was the second century of Sanju’s T20 career which came within 50 balls. Earlier, Surya had scored two centuries for India in T20 within fifty balls. Earlier, Sanju had scored a century in the last T20 match of the series against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. This is the highest century by any Indian wicketkeeper in T20 cricket. Sanju made a record in the first match played against South Africa in Durban.

Right-handed batsman Sanju Samson scored a lot of runs against spin bowlers in the first T20 against South Africa. He scored 58 runs on 27 balls against him. Sanju scored more runs against leg spin bowlers. Sanju, who came in the opening, looked in excellent form from the beginning. He played an innings of 107 runs in 50 balls. Sanju Samson is the fourth player in the world to score the second consecutive century in T20. Earlier, Gustave Macion of France, Phil Salt of England and Riley Rossow of South Africa have achieved the feat of scoring two consecutive centuries in T20 international cricket. Gustav and Rosso achieved this feat in 2022 while Salt scored back to back centuries in 2023. As an Indian batsman, Sanju has jointly reached the first position with Rohit Sharma in terms of hitting most sixes in T20 innings. Rohit had hit 10 sixes alone in the match against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Sanju Samson has become the batsman to hit the most sixes (12 sixes) against leg spin bowlers in 2024. He broke the record of Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam. Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman had hit an equal number of 7 sixes against leg spin bowlers this year. Sanju also has the most number of sixes in T20 against full member teams in a calendar year. Sanju left behind Glenn Phillips and Sikandar Raza. The Indian batsman has hit 12 sixes this year, while New Zealand’s Phillips has hit 10 sixes in 2022 and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza has hit 9 sixes.
