Terrorists became safe haven due to border dispute
There has always been tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan regarding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Because of this, many terrorist groups use it as a shelter. A major reason for the terrorist incidents happening here is the lack of mutual agreement between the two countries regarding the border area.
Actually, Pakistan and Afghanistan are separated by a border. This is called Durand Line. Pakistan considers it as the boundary line, but Taliban clearly says that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa state of Pakistan is its part. Pakistani Army has fenced here with barbed wire.
Upon occupying Afghanistan, Taliban asked Pakistan to vacate this area and uprooted the fencing here. Pakistan protested against this and deployed army there. After this the Taliban blew up the Pakistani check posts present there.
When Pakistan had fenced the Durand Line, the Taliban had uprooted it.
People’s allegation – There is unrest in the area due to the presence of the army.
A few months ago, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had revolted against the Pakistani army. More than 10 thousand Pashtun people of the area took to the streets and raised slogans of ‘Army go back’. He said that the army has created terror in the area.
There is unrest due to the presence of the army in the area and due to this terrorist attacks are increasing. Pashtuns were demanding to stop the military operation being conducted in Khyber area. The protesters accuse the Pakistani Army of torturing common people in the name of terrorism. She arrests whoever she wants whenever she wants.
The citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa allege that the Pakistani Army has been oppressing them for years in the name of eradicating terrorism.
