The latest case is from Manjhi in Chhapra where a young girl fell into the river while taking a selfie. The incident happened on Wednesday where a young girl who had gone to take a selfie with her friend on the new railway bridge built at Manjhi on the Chhapra-Ballia railway line, slipped and fell into the Saryu river and was swept away by the strong current of the river. After the incident, her distraught friend fled from the spot.

After this, as soon as the incident was known, the people and boatmen around started looking for the girl, but even after 48 hours, there was no trace of the girl. Let us tell you that the girl who drowned in the Saryu river was identified as Ragini Kumari, 17-year-old daughter of Ramashankar Singh, resident of Chhotki Madipur of Manjhi police station area. When the police reached the spot on receiving the information, the atmosphere became gloomy.

The family members of the girl who drowned said that the girl had passed the intermediate examination with first division. She was the youngest among three brothers and three sisters. On receiving the information about the girl drowning in the river, CO Abhishek Ranjan of Manjhi reached Ramghat and started searching for the girl with the help of a motor boat under the leadership of Deputy Chief Councilor Representative of Manjhi Nagar Panchayat Krishna Singh Pehalwan.

Manjhi police said that as soon as the information was received, the police became active and the girl was being searched, but due to high water level, she has not been found yet. Police is investigating the matter. However, it is feared that the girl has been swept away in the river current and now it may not be possible for her to survive. However, the police is still searching.
