‘O woman, come tomorrow’, slogan written in 150 year old building

The controversy over the Halloween party held at King Edward Medical School located in the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College campus is not stopping. Two organizations of teachers and alumni of the medical college have gone to the Sanyogitaganj police station and demanded registration of an FIR against the organisers. The party was organized by a Jain social group on Sunday, in which slogans were written in red and black paint on the walls and decorations were done with scary things.

This 150 year old historical building

Doctors’ organizations have expressed strong objection to this unauthorized party being organized in this historical building which is almost 150 years old. The complaint states that Jain Social Group had organized this Halloween party in the building of King Edward Medical School on October 13, in which obscene pictures and objectionable slogans were written on the walls of the building built in 1878.

Halloween party

Let us tell you that in western countries, Halloween party is celebrated on the eve of All Hallows Day on October 31, in which decorations are done based on horror and supernatural themes. Assistant Police Commissioner Tushar Singh said that the police will interrogate the college management as to whose permission this party was organised. Appropriate legal action will be taken after investigation.

Dean of the college, Dr. Sanjay Dixit said that they have issued a notice to the organization concerned for this event, as permission for this party was not given by them. Meanwhile, pictures from the party are going viral on social media, in which local BJP leader Akshay Kanti Bam is seen in a ghost costume.

State Congress spokesperson Neelabh Shukla’s allegations

State Congress spokesperson Neelabh Shukla has alleged that BJP has patronage behind this event and FIR is not being registered due to pressure from the ruling party. However, Akshay Kanti Bam said that he has no connection with this organization.

It is noteworthy that Akshay Kanti Bam was the Congress candidate earlier this year, but he withdrew his candidature and joined BJP, due to which the Congress suffered a loss.
