Now Zelensky started teasing Putin, rubbed salt on Russia’s wounds on Ukraine’s Independence Day

Kyiv. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has once again rubbed salt on Russia’s wounds. In his speech on the occasion of Ukraine’s 33rd Independence Day, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russia’s attack against his country has yielded results contrary to expectations. Zelensky said that the scope of the war has now spread to Russian territory. Zelensky gave his speech from Sumy, an area close to the Russian border, where Ukrainian troops entered Russia earlier this month. Ukrainian President Zelensky said that ‘Russia wanted only one thing, to destroy us. Instead, today we are celebrating Ukraine’s 33rd Independence Day. And the enemy who brought the war to our land has now returned to his home.’

Ukrainian President Zelensky warned that those who intended to turn Ukraine into just a buffer zone should now be worried about the prospects of their country becoming a buffer federation. Along with this, Ukraine has taken a big step towards connecting with international justice by ratifying the Treaty of Rome, allowing the country to join the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Restrictions on religious groups linked to Moscow
President Zelensky has also signed a law banning Moscow-linked religious organizations, which represents a severing of ties with a branch of the Orthodox Church accused of supporting Russia’s attack on Ukraine. A law passed by parliament earlier this month gives the Ukrainian government the legal power to close these institutions. This will further worsen relations with Russia and strengthen Ukraine’s independent religious identity.

Emergency declared in Russia’s Voronezh after drone attack
After the Ukrainian drone attack, the Russian government has imposed an emergency in the Voronezh region of Russia. A part of the Voronezh region shares the border with Ukraine. According to the governor of the area, Alexander Gusev, the Russian army successfully intercepted 5 drones. However, the Ukrainian drone attacks caused a fire in the debris, which caused the explosives present there to explode. But this did not cause any damage to civilian structures. Despite this, precautionary measures were taken. Which includes implementing emergency protocols in three settlements and evacuating 200 people from their homes. It is worth noting that the Ukrainian army has occupied 1,200 square kilometers (480 square miles) of Russian territory in the Kursk region.
