Sachin Tendulkar

The first name in this list is that of Sachin Tendulkar. He captained Mumbai Indians in the first season of IPL. Tendulkar captained 55 matches in the IPL from 2008 to 2011, winning 32 and losing 23. He played his last match in the tournament in 2013. Mumbai Indians did not release him even once.

ricky ponting

Australia’s legendary player Ricky Ponting joined Mumbai Indians in 2013. In the same season, he was given the captaincy of the team, but after the poor performance of the team in the first 6 matches, Ponting left the captaincy. He then retired after the season ended. Thus, he was never released by MI.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma became a part of Mumbai Indians in 2011. He was made the captain of the team in 2013. As a captain, Rohit has been the most successful captain of MI. Under his captaincy the team has become champion five times. However, in the last season, Hardik Pandya was given the captaincy of the team. From 2011 to 2024 IPL, Mumbai has never released Rohit Sharma.
