During a phone conversation with PM Modi, Mohammad Yunus said that reports of attacks on minorities in Bangladesh have been exaggerated.
Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus spoke to PM Narendra Modi on phone on Friday evening. He informed PM Modi about the safety of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh.
Yunus told PM Modi that reports of attacks on minorities have been exaggerated. He invited Indian journalists to visit the country to assess the situation and report on the incident from there.
On PM Modi raising the issue of safety of minorities, Yunus said that his government is committed to the safety of all the citizens of the country including minorities. He said that the situation in Bangladesh is now under control and life in the country is becoming normal.
Attack on actress Rokeya Prachi
Actress Rokeya Prachi has been attacked in Bangladesh. According to the Bengali newspaper The Daily Star, National Award-winning actress Prachi had reached a candlelight protest on Wednesday evening on the anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujiburahman.
She was demanding an inquiry into the violence that took place during the student movement at Bangabandhu’s old residence in Dhanmondi-32, when 30 to 40 people attacked her. They slapped her and tried to push her down.
While talking to India Today, actress Prachi said that those who beat her were Jamaat and BNP workers. Violence was also done to other women present there, their clothes were torn. Prachi said that given the situation in the country, she does not know whether she will be alive tomorrow or not. She does not find anything right in this newly gained freedom.
Rokeya Prachi is a member of the Awami League. She has also received a National Award for acting.

Prachi said that she does not know who is running the country. They are just committing murders and hanging the bodies. Whatever is happening today is an attempt to wipe out the roots of Bangladesh. I will not compromise on anything now, even at gunpoint.

Earlier, on August 5, actor Shanto Khan and his father Salim Khan were beaten to death amid the violence in the country. Salim Khan was a film producer and was associated with Sheikh Hasina’s party.
Student leaders will form their own political party
The student leaders who removed former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from power will form their own political party. According to news agency Reuters, four student leaders said that their target is to prevent Sheikh Hasina’s party from coming to power again.
In Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League and Khaleda Zia’s BNP party have been forming the government in the last few decades. The students said that they want to end this two-party system. They said that they are considering forming their own new party to implement reforms.
