Taliban has objected to the statement of Hollywood actress Meryl Streep.
Taliban has hit back at the statement given by famous Hollywood actress Meryl Streep regarding Afghan women. Taliban has said that there is no discrimination against women in Afghanistan. It is absurd to make such allegations.
Taliban spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat said that women’s human rights are protected in Afghanistan. No one is discriminated against. Some women spread propaganda against Taliban.
Suhail Shaheen, another Taliban spokesman, told the BBC that women could not be deprived of the rights that Islam has given them. He further said that the restrictions imposed on women are in accordance with Islamic Shariat law.
Earlier, Meryl Streep had given a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday. He had said that cats and squirrels have more freedom than women in Afghanistan.

Streep said that since the arrival of the Taliban in Afghanistan, many restrictions have been imposed on women. Even animals can roam free in Afghanistan, Afghan women are forced to hide. This is very strange and also against the laws of nature.
Meryl Streep said-
I graduated in 1971. That year women got voting rights in Switzerland. Women had already got this right in Afghanistan. She has been using her voting rights since 1919. Even in America, women got voting rights only after this.
Meryl Streep said that the way social collapse has happened in Afghanistan is a lesson for the whole world. There, in the 70s, women used to be judges and advocates. She was working in almost every field. Now all their rights have been taken away.
The actress further said that a cat may sit at her door. Can feel the sunlight on your face. She can chase squirrels in the park. A bird can sing in Kabul, but a girl cannot.
The streets, parks and public spaces that were once open to them have now been taken away from them. Now such a suffocating system has been created there that does not allow them to achieve even the basic happiness of life.
