Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Chairman SN Subramanian advised his employees to work 90 hours a week during an online conversation. He said that if possible, the company will make you work on Sunday also.
During the conversation, Subramanian also answered and raised questions from the employees. When he was asked why this billion dollar company calls its employees even on Saturdays. In response he said, ‘I am sorry that I am not able to make you work on Sunday. If I can get you to work even on Sunday, I will be more than happy, because I work on Sunday. Subramanian said this in the internal meeting of L&T.
After this statement of Subramanian, the ongoing debate on work-life balance is likely to get a boost. It started after Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy suggested working 70 hours a week.

In support of this, Subramanian also shared a conversation with a Chinese person. He said, ‘The person claimed that China can overtake America because Chinese employees work 90 hours a week, whereas in America, they work 50 hours.’
