Jio-BP launched its 500th EV charging station at Jio World Center (JWC) located at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai. The momentous occasion was inaugurated by Anant Ambani and BP CEO Murray Auchincloss, taking the number of Jio-BP charging points in India to over 5,000.
Jio-BP joint venture between Reliance and BP for fuel and mobility solutions is rapidly expanding its EV charging network in the country. This new charging station will provide easy charging of their electric vehicles to visitors visiting important destinations of BKC such as Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, Jio World Plaza and Jio World Convention Centre.
Speaking at the launch, Anant Ambani said, “Jio-BP has an important role in accelerating the EV adoption process in India. With the largest network of fast-charging stations, rapid growth and reliability of EV infrastructure, Jio-BP Providing digital charging solutions to millions of Indians.”
Jio-BP has increased the number of its EV charging points from 1,300 to 5,000 in just one year, of which 95% of the charging points offer fast-charging. Jio-BP is the first company to install top-rated chargers with a capacity of 480 kW. These charging points are providing fast charging at malls, public parking, corporate parks, hotels and roadside facilities. With this rapid expansion of charging infrastructure, Jio-BP is playing a major role in promoting electric vehicles in India.
