Jasprit Bumrah’s big update on fitness, will play in the Champions Trophy!

Whether or not Team India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will play the Champions Trophy is the biggest question of time. The BCCI has named his name in the squad of the Champions Trophy, but will depend on his back injury whether he will participate in this ICC event. Now the BCCI has decided to seek help from the New Zealand doctor. According to the Times of India report, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Rowan Scouton will assess his back injury in New Zealand. After his report and feedback, it will be considered whether Bumrah has to go to New Zealand.

According to the report, the BCCI is already planning a backup, as Bumrah can perform quite well for time to fit on time for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held next month.
Jasprit Bumrah has also been selected for the last ODI against England which is to go to play on February 12, but the hope is very low that Bumrah plays against England. The last date for changing the squad for the Champions Trophy is February 11. Before that, India can make as much change in the squad without ICC permission.
The selectors have already decided Harshit Rana’s name for the first two ODIs against England. It will be interesting to see that if Bumrah is not fit for the Champions Trophy, will Harshit Rana replace him.
A BCCI source said that the BCCI medical team is in touch with Scouton in New Zealand. The board planned to send Bumrah to New Zealand. But this has not happened yet. The selectors know that if Bumrah gets 100 percent fit in the given time, then this miracle will happen.
Scouton operated Bumrah after missing the T20 World Cup in 2022. Bumrah was on a back injury to Australia. He has been troubled by back injury earlier.
