ICC has released its latest rankings on Wednesday 1 January 2025. Team India’s star bowler Jasprit Bumrah created history in this Test ranking. In fact, he continues to top the ranking of bowlers and has now become the first Indian bowler to achieve the highest rating points. He left Ravichandran Ashwin’s 904 rating points behind. He now has 907 rating points to his name. Bumrah is joint 17th in the all-time list with 907 points along with England’s Derek Underwicke.

At the same time, Australia captain and fast bowler Pat Cummins has also made a big gain in this ranking. He achieved 15 rating points by taking 6 wickets in the fourth test and is at third position in the bowlers’ ranking. Cummins has also secured the third position in the Test all-rounder rankings on the basis of his innings of 90 important runs during Australia’s excellent victory in Melbourne.

While playing at the MCG, Bumrah became the fastest Indian fast bowler to take 200 wickets in Test cricket. Earlier, Kapil Dev had made a record of taking 200 wickets in 50 matches in the Test against West Indies in Port of Spain in March 1983. Bumrah achieved the feat in his 44th Test, making him the joint second fastest Indian to take 200 Test wickets along with Ravindra Jadeja.
