Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has come into trouble. A judicial inquiry has started against Georgia Meloni. Meloni is alleged to have released a Libya police officer, who was arrested after the ICC’s arrest warrant. However, the time will tell whether she will resign due to this allegation or not.
But Meloni has no obligation to resign and is not a proof of the fault facing the investigation in Italy and it is not that any formal charge will be behind it. Meloni said on Tuesday that he was kept under judicial inquiry.

Why is the investigation against Meloni?
Osama Elmasari Nazim was released last week and sent home by an Italian government aircraft. The incident took place a few days after his arrest in Turin city. The ICC has sought clarification on this decision, saying that he was not given any information about it.
Meloni said in a post on social media that he has been kept under investigation on charges of assistance in crime and misuse of public money.
They have no obligation to resign, and to be kept under investigation in Italy do not prove the blame, nor does it mean that formal allegations will be compulsorily made.
Meloni said in a video posted on her Facebook profile, “I won’t be blackmail, I am not afraid, perhaps that is why I am disliked by those who do not want Italy to change and be better.” He said that he is confident that the investigation has been initiated by Luigi Lee Goti, who is a lawyer and who had filed a complaint against the use of government aircraft for the release of Nazim and sending him back to Tripoli last week.
What did ICC say?
ICC said that he is accused of murder, torture, rape and sexual violence. The ICC further said that the warrant was sent to member countries including Italy on 18 January, and the court had also informed that it had entered Europe. The court said that it had reminded Italy at that time that if he had any problem in cooperating with the warrant, he should contact him without delay.
