ISRO is preparing to launch the new space mission Proba-3 in partnership with the European Space Agency. UNI According to, the mission is set to be launched on December 4. This mission is special because it will be the first mission in which two spacecraft will fly together in a precision formation. The purpose of this mission is to study the Sun in detail. This mission will be a feat as it will help in the study of the Sun’s atmosphere which is called corona.
Two spacecraft will be included in this mission. The name of one is Occulter Spacecraft (OSC) which will be of 200 kg. While the name of the second one is Coronagraph Spacecraft (CSC) which will be of 340 kg. In this, at the time of launch, the OSC spacecraft will be on top while the CSC will be present below it. It will be sent after filling a special fuel in CSC so that when it reaches space, it can continue its journey.
The mission will be launched through ISRO’s PSLV-XL rocket. This will take both the spacecraft out of the Earth. After reaching space, both the spacecraft will separate but they will work together. They will remain in touch with each other through communication devices and will work in coordination. Together, both will work as a large instrument that will show the Sun very closely. With this, close study of the Sun can be done.
This will be the first time that the Sun can be seen so closely. New discoveries about the Sun can be made through this mission. What is happening on the surface of the Sun can be observed very closely. Along with this, the origin of solar storms and their movement will also be known better.
