By turning it on, outside air is prevented from entering the car’s cabin and instead, the air already present inside the vehicle is recirculated.
This mode has some other benefits, such as it improves the air quality inside the cabin. It filters out any kind of smell present in the air. It is helpful in heating or cooling the cabin quickly. Recirculating the air puts pressure on the air conditioning compressor. This also saves fuel to some extent.
Some other points also need attention-
Keep the auto start or auto stop feature of the AC off. If this happens, the AC compressor will also stop working as soon as the car is turned off, due to which a lot of energy and fuel will be needed to cool the car again.
Keep the AC in auto mode – The ACs of new cars also have an auto mode feature. This means that when the temperature inside your car reaches the set temperature, the compressor will turn off automatically. By doing this, not only will less fuel be used, but the cabin of the car will also remain cool for a longer time.
Clean the condenser of the AC – The condenser plays an important role in the car’s AC system. It removes excess heat and cools the refrigerant again. But the condenser can get blocked due to dust and dirt, which gradually reduces the working capacity of the car’s AC. Therefore, regular cleaning of the condenser is necessary. Also, it is necessary to get it serviced in summer, so that the AC keeps working well.
