Along with the IRCTC website, the app was also down. According to DownDetector, a website that monitors online outages, people started complaining about IRCTC being down at around 10.50 in the morning. People were facing problems in app, website and ticket booking.

IRCTC was down thrice last month
Indian Railways website and app were down thrice in December. On December 9, the e-ticketing platform remained closed for an hour due to repairs and on December 26 also for a long time due to maintenance activity. After this, people had to face problems even on the last day of the year i.e. 31st December. Due to the website being down, he was not able to book the ticket.
