BCCI can make changes in a major rule even before IPL auction 2025. Actually, till now every team was allowed to retain 3 players before the auction but now this number can be three to five.
IPL Auction 2025 will be organized in the month of December this year. But even before that BCCI can make changes in a major rule. Actually, till now every team was allowed to retain 3 players before the auction but now this number can be three to five. The implementation of this rule means that the big headache of Mumbai Indians will end.
According to Indian Express reports, an important meeting was recently held at the BCCI headquarters in which the owners of 10 teams were present. Most team owners wanted permission to retain 5 to 6 players. According to reports, BCCI has agreed to this after the request of the franchise owners. The board feels that by doing this the brand value of the teams will be maintained.
Let us tell you that during the 2022 mega auction, each team was allowed to retain four players. Of these four players, not more than three could be Indians and not more than two could not be foreigners. BCCI has agreed to retain five players but it is not decided how many Indian and how many foreign players will be there.
If the rule of retaining five players is implemented then the problems of Mumbai Indians can be solved. The main players of the team have remained in the team for the last several years. Last year, the team included Hardik Pandya in the team as captain.
