IND VS NZ: Lallantop idea came from Gautam’s laptop, “GST” plan for batsmen

New Delhi. If there is one person under the most pressure before the start of the Test in Pune, it is team coach Gautam Gambhir. Coach Gambhir was seen with a laptop during the practice session. The coach, assistant coach and bowling coach were seen analyzing the way Virat, Rohit, Gill and K Rahul got out. Work was also done in the nets to ensure that the Indian batsmen did not repeat the mistakes of Bengaluru.

In the first innings of the Bangalore Test, most of the Indian batsmen were troubled by the Kiwi bowlers on short pitch bowling. Bowling was done by targeting the ribs due to which most of the batsmen lost their wickets while defending. Gautam Gambhir knows that even on slow pitches, Kiwi bowlers will target the body of Indian batsmen and a game plan will have to be made to deal with this.

Coach Gambhir’s GST plan

To break the cycle of rib breaking bowling and short leg, backward short leg, coach Gambhir has made a plan GST i.e. Great Scoring Technique. Gambhir made it clear that Indian batsmen will use some shots as their cover to deal with the balls coming on the ribs so that the pace of runs does not stop and the work of pushing away the close catching fielders is also done.

Playing XI will be decided after seeing the pitch

Coach Gautam Gambhir, who came for the press conference after the match, said that the playing eleven of the match will be decided after seeing the pitch in the morning. On the question asked on Gill, the coach said that he was unfit so he did not play, now if he is fit then he will be available for selection. Pant is also completely fit and will also keep. Gambhir said that he will come on the field to win the match and cannot think of a draw in today’s times.
