HighLights
- Mayank Yadav is India’s fastest bowler
- Only Pandya has a chance among senior players
- The first T20 will be held in Gwalior on 6th October.
Bureau, New Delhi. India’s fastest bowler ‘Rajdhani Express’ Mayank Yadav has been included in the Indian team for the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh after completing almost five months of rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led team includes only one more senior player, former T20 captain Hardik Pandya. All the players who have performed well in the recent IPL have been selected. Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders, has been recalled to the squad in 2021, three years after a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign in the UAE.
After Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dubey, another all-rounder Nitish Reddy
After Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dubey, Nitish Reddy has also got an opportunity as a backup all-rounder. Nitish was recently ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour due to injury.
Talented players like Riyan Parag, Abhishek Sharma, Harshit Rana have got a place in the 15-member team. Jitesh Sharma is the second wicketkeeper after Sanju Samson.
Delhi’s Mayank Yadav came into discussion like this
The biggest surprise is definitely Mayank’s inclusion. He bowled consistently at 150 kmph during three of his four IPL matches for Lucknow Super Giants. He was also the player of the match continuously.
Midway through the IPL, 22-year-old Mayank from Delhi was ruled out due to a lower abdominal strain. Recently he has been bowling 14-15 overs every day at NCA.
