New Delhi. After a 4-1 win in the 5 Test series against England, Team India will again be seen playing red ball cricket. The two-Test series between India and Bangladesh is going to start from 19 September in Chennai. The second Test will be held in Kanpur from 27 September. In this series being held under the World Test Championship, the India-Bangladesh clash is being considered a ‘mismatch’, but after ‘clean sweep’ of Pakistan in two Tests on its home ground, the morale of the Bangladeshi team is at its peak. This is the reason why it is believed that amid some ‘edge’ gained by the Rohit Sharma brigade, Nazmul Hasan Shanto’s team can give a tough fight in this series.
The Bangladesh team that has come for the current tour is balanced in both batting and bowling departments. Apart from match winners like Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehdi Hasan Miraz, Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das, it also has good bowlers like Taskin Ahmed, Nahid Rana and Hasan Mehmood. Everyone’s eyes are on 21-year-old Nahid Rana, who is more than six feet tall and can bowl at a speed of 140 KM/H continuously and is being considered a player of the future.

Team India can create a record of more wins than losses in Chennai
This series is important for Team India for another reason as well. If the Indian team manages to win the Chennai Test, then for the first time in the 92-year history of cricket, it will have more wins than losses. From 1932 to 2024, Team India has played 579 Tests in which it has won 178 and lost the same number of times, while one Test was tied and 222 Tests were drawn. On the other hand, Bangladesh has won only 21 of its 144 Tests while it has lost 105. 18 Tests have ended in draws. Currently, in Test cricket, only Australia, England, West Indies, South Africa and Pakistan have registered more wins than losses in Tests.
Bangladesh has not been able to beat India in Tests yet
India and Bangladesh have faced each other 13 times in Tests so far, in which the Indian team has won 11 times and two matches have been drawn. In the current series, Bangladesh will definitely be desperate to end its 24-year wait for victory. The first Test match between the two countries was held in Dhaka in November 2000, which India won by 9 wickets. Team India last defeated Bangladesh by 3 wickets in the match held in Mirpur in December 2022.

Many players of Team India are waiting for big achievements
By targeting the final of the World Test Championship for the third consecutive time, the Indian selectors have selected a strong team for this series. Virat Kohli and Jaspreet Bumrah are included in it. The current series can give important personal achievements to many players of Team India, including Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and R. Ashwin.
Virat Kohli : Virat Kohli, who has scored 8,848 runs in 113 Tests so far, will touch the 9,000 Test run mark as soon as he scores 152 runs in this series. He also has a chance to surpass Bradman’s record of 29 centuries in the series. He is currently at par with Don in terms of Test centuries. Not only this, as soon as he scores 58 runs in the series, Virat will complete 27,000 runs in international cricket. Only Sachin, Sangakkara and Ponting have been able to reach this figure.
Ravindra Jadeja : ‘Jaddu’ (Ravindra Jadeja), who has taken 294 wickets in 72 Tests, will not only touch the 3000 wicket mark as soon as he takes 6 wickets, but will also become the second left-arm spinner to join the 300 wickets and 3000 runs club after Kiwi Daniel Vettori. Among the spinners, apart from Vettori, only Warne and Ashwin (both right-arm spinners) have been able to achieve this feat.
R Ashwin : If Ashwin (516 wickets in 100 Tests) is able to take 15 wickets in the two-match series, he will leave behind Australia’s Nathan Lyon (530 wickets in 129 Tests). If Ashwin (R Ashwin) is able to take 5 or more wickets in an innings twice in the series, he will leave behind Shane Warne in this matter. Warne, who played 145 Tests, has taken 5 or more wickets in an innings 37 times, while Ashwin has done so 36 times in 100 Tests so far.
