Sports Desk, Indore. IND vs BAN 1st Test Records: India won the Chennai Test against Bangladesh by 280 runs. In the match, the visiting team had a target of 515 runs, chasing which Bangladesh was reduced to 234 runs.

Ashwin equaled Shane Warne

R Ashwin took 5 wickets in an innings for the 37th time in Test cricket. This is the joint second best performance of any bowler. He has equaled Shane Warne. Now ahead of him is Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan, who has taken 5 wickets 67 times.

5 wickets in an innings at the oldest age

When Ravichandran Ashwin appeared in the Chennai Test, he was 38 years and two days old. He became the oldest bowler for Team India to take 5 wickets in an innings in Tests. This record was earlier in the name of Vinoo Mankad. He achieved this feat against Pakistan in Peshawar in 1955 at the age of 37 years and 306 days.

Polly Umrigar’s record broken

R Ashwin became the first player to take a century and 5 wickets for the second time at the same ground. Earlier, he had achieved this feat against England in 2021. With this, Ashwin became the oldest player to take a century and five wickets in a Test match. Earlier this record was in the name of Indian player Polly Umrigar. He scored 172* runs and took five wickets against West Indies in 1962 at the age of 36 years and 7 days.

Pant equaled Mahi

Rishabh Pant has scored six centuries in Test cricket. He equaled Mahendra Singh Dhoni in scoring the most centuries in Tests by any Indian wicketkeeper.
