New Delhi. Have the left arm pacers found the weakness of Yashasvi Jaiswal? This question is also being asked as soon as the India vs Australia test match starts. It so happened that Yashasvi Jaiswal was out in this match without opening the account. He was dismissed by left arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc. Jaiswal remained at the crease for 10 minutes and was out after playing only 8 balls.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was caught at gully by Mitchell Starc on the very first ball of his second over. This was the third over of the innings i.e. 13th ball. The ball hit the off stump and came out a little, on which Jaiswal went to look for a four. Jaiswal did not get a four but the ball took the outer edge of his bat and ended up in the hands of Nathan McSweeney, who was playing the debut match.

Sanjay Manjrekar, who was commenting on Star Sports, clearly said, ‘It was a loose shot by Yashshwi Jaiswal. But they probably came thinking that they would play aggressively. So went to play the shot even though it was not the drive length. There was not much movement in the ball.
Cheteshwar Pujara, who was debuting as a commentator, also seemed to agree with Manjrekar. Pujara said, ‘Yashasvi made a slight mistake. He hurried. It wasn’t the length of the drive. The ball bounced more in Australia. This is what happened. The ball he tried to drive came higher and hence took the outside edge and reached the gully fielder.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has not been able to perform up to his potential against left-arm bowlers. In the last 5 innings against the left arm pacer, Yashasvi has played 58 balls and scored only 29 runs. During this period, he has been dismissed 4 times by left arm pacers only.
