Hyundai’s electric car is coming to beat Punch EV, the design is such that you will become crazy at first sight

New Delhi. Electric car sales are growing rapidly in India. According to the Indian Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), 90,996 electric cars were sold in the country from April 2023 to March 2024. This was a growth of 91.37% compared to the financial year a year earlier. This is the reason why many companies of the world like Tesla are showing interest in selling electric vehicles in India. Although Hyundai is already present in the race of electric cars in India, but now the company seems to be preparing to compete with the country’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors.

According to a recent report, Hyundai may soon launch its budget electric car in the Indian market. It is being told that this affordable electric car of Hyundai will be launched against Tata Punch EV and will give it a tough competition from range and price to performance and size. Let’s know how this affordable electric car of Hyundai is going to be.

Hyundai Inster will be an affordable electric car
According to reports, this new electric car of Hyundai can be launched in India under the name “Inster”. The company has revealed it at the Busan International Mobility Show. However, the company has not officially revealed its plans to launch it in India, but if this car is launched in India, it will compete with Tata Punch EV. Tata Punch EV is available at an initial price of Rs 10.99 lakh. At the same time, according to reports, Hyundai Inster can be launched at an initial price of Rs 12 lakh.

Will give a punch in space
Hyundai Inserter will be equal to Punch EV in size. To compete with Punch EV, Hyundai will also offer Inserter in 5-center layout. In terms of price and seating, Inserter can also compete with MG Comet EV.

Battery and range will also be great
The company is going to provide a big battery pack in Hyundai Inster. Its base model is being given a battery pack of 42-kWh and the top model is being given a battery pack of up to 49-kWh. On the other hand, if we talk about Punch EV, then the company is giving a battery pack of 25 kWh in its base model and up to 35Kwh in the top model. Talking about the drive range, the Inster can get a range of up to 355 km on a single charge. On the other hand, Tata Punch gets a range of up to 421 km.

All features will be latest
At the moment, Hyundai has not revealed the features offered with the Inster, but it is expected to match the features currently offered with the Punch EV. Both the Inster and Punch EV come equipped with dual 10.25-inch touchscreens and a digital instrument cluster. Other features include dual-tone interiors, single pan sunroof, wireless phone charger, 6 airbags, 360° camera and blind spot monitor.

The Inster also gets some additional features like Vehicle to Load (V2L) charging support and ADAS. However, it is not certain whether the Inster will get the ADAS kit in India or not. The Indian version will also not get features like heated front seats and heated steering wheel. The India-spec Inster may instead get front ventilated seats, which are already available with the Punch EV.
