How did BJP’s 8% vote share decrease in UP in Lok Sabha elections? Report submitted to PM Modi

The party has done a post-mortem of the reasons for BJP’s poor performance in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections. The biggest information that has come out in this post-mortem is that not one or two but a full eight percent of the party’s votes were scattered in this election. This was seen in all the six divisions of the state. Due to this, the party suffered losses in all the areas of the state – West, Braj, Kanpur, Bundelkhand, Gorakhpur and Kashi. Among these, the party suffered the most losses in West and Kashi.

Actually, on Wednesday, UP BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary met PM Modi. After this, PM Modi had a long conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Earlier, the party prepared a detailed report on the poor performance of BJP in UP. To prepare this 15-page report, more than 50 thousand party people were interviewed in the state.

Maurya-Kurmi distance
A series of meetings is going on from Lucknow to Delhi regarding the poor performance of the party in UP. On Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister of the state Keshav Prasad Maurya and Bhupendra Chaudhary met many other leaders including party president GP Nadda in Delhi. According to the exclusive information received by News18, according to this report, voters of Kurmi and Maurya castes in UP did not vote for BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. After the Yadav community in the OBC in the state, the position of these castes is better in number and influence. These castes have been hardcore voters of BJP since the last elections.

Along with this, there was a 10 percent decline in the BSP vote share in the state. This directly benefited the SP-Congress India alliance. It also said that the party got only one-third of the votes of the Dalit community.

No support from Dalit community
Apart from the caste equation, many other reasons have been cited in this report for the party’s defeat. In this, the dominance of the administration over the party and the government has been cited as a major reason. The public, especially the BJP supporters, were upset with the interference of the bureaucracy and the police on many issues. The attitude of the top leadership of the state discouraged the hardcore workers of the party. There was no one to listen to their complaints and concerns.

According to sources, this report also says that conducting elections in seven phases also proved costly. By the time the elections reached the last few phases, the workers had become disheartened. The statements of some leaders regarding changing the constitution in case the NDA gets 400 seats were also given at the wrong time.
