How astronauts breathe for months in space, know where so much oxygen comes from

Breathing is the most important task for humans. If breathing is stopped even for a few seconds, life is at risk. In the plains, there is sufficient amount of oxygen and we can breathe easily, but as we go to higher altitudes, breathing becomes difficult. When we go to high altitude, our breathing becomes labored and we need a separate oxygen cylinder.

Have you ever wondered how astronauts would breathe in space at an altitude of thousands and millions of kilometers from the Earth, whereas there is oxygen only up to a height of 120 kilometers from the Earth. There is no question of oxygen in space, so how do astronauts spend so many days in space without oxygen? Let us know the real reason behind this.

No oxygen in space

We all know that there is no oxygen in space. This is because the force of gravity does not work in space. If the force of gravity worked in space, it would bind the gases, due to which oxygen would be available here. However, there is no oxygen here, which makes breathing difficult here. In such a situation, the big question is how do astronauts breathe in space?

Oxygen is arranged in the spacecraft

You must have seen pictures of Indian-origin astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore in recent times. Both have been stuck in space for the past several months. In such a situation, if there is no oxygen in space then how are they breathing? Actually, oxygen is arranged in spacecraft designed for astronauts. Therefore, as long as they stay in the spacecraft, they do not have to take a separate oxygen cylinder to breathe.

Special spacesuit is made for spacewalk

However, if astronauts exit the spacecraft, they have to carry a separate oxygen cylinder. Whenever astronauts have to do a space walk, a special kind of spacesuit is made for them, in which there is a provision of oxygen. There are two types of cylinders in this space shoot: oxygen and nitrogen.
