Google released its January Android Security bulletin Issuing an alert to the users, it has been said that devices running on versions from Android 12 to Android 15 can come under the grip of hackers. Some of the vulnerabilities that have been discovered are serious, as they could allow cybercriminals to execute malicious code on the device even without permission. If this happens, hackers could gain complete access to users’ devices, or at least their personal information could be at risk.
The bulletin details five serious vulnerabilities that can affect devices running Android 12 to 15 versions. The vulnerabilities identified in the January update are assigned the following codes: CVE-2024-43096, CVE-2024-43770, CVE-2024-43771, CVE-2024-49747, and CVE-2024-49748.
To avoid this, Google often recommends updating your device with the latest security patches. No matter what brand of Android device you have, you should update it with the latest security patches released by your OEM. If you haven’t received the security patch update for January yet, you should keep an eye out for updates over the next few weeks.
