2. 9 out of 10 traders suffer loss in F&O: SEBI study claims – 93% of F&O traders suffered a loss of ₹ 1.8 lakh crore in the last three years.
Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said that 9 out of 10 individual traders have suffered losses in Equity Futures and Options i.e. F&O segment. Market regulator SEBI has given this information in one of its latest analysis reports.
SEBI said in the report that in the three-year time period between FY-22 and FY-24, 93% of more than 1 crore F&O traders have suffered a total loss of Rs 1.8 lakh crore. This means that out of about 93 lakh traders, each trader has suffered an average loss of about Rs 2 lakh (including transaction cost).
