Ghaziabad: Municipal bond listed in BSE, Ghaziabad becomes the country’s first green bond municipality


New Delhi. Today, on Thursday, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation’s bond listing program was organized on BSE in Delhi. After Lucknow, the bond of Ghaziabad, the second municipal corporation of Uttar Pradesh, has been issued. This is the country’s first green bond.

By issuing bonds of the Municipal Corporation, an amount of Rs 150 crore was received, which will be used in Sahibabad Industrial Area by treating sewer water. This will provide water to about 1700 companies. This will also reduce the load on ground water. That is why it has also been called a green bond.

At the bond listing ceremony of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Ghaziabad MP VK Singh said that this is a very big occasion. The country’s first green bond was issued by Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation. Through this, sewage water will be treated and supplied to Sahibabad Industrial Area.

Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon said that Ghaziabad is the second municipal corporation in Uttar Pradesh whose bond has been listed. This is the country’s first green bond. It will be used to clean water and supply it to companies. This will also reduce the pressure on groundwater.

The state’s Urban Development Minister said that many other municipal corporations including Agra and Bareilly are inspired by this and are making efforts and the state government will help them. On this occasion, Union Minister and Ghaziabad MP General VK Singh, Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister Ashutosh Tandon, Ghaziabad Mayor Asha Sharma, Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mahendra Tanwar and Union Urban Development Ministry Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra were present.
