Rawalpindi. Bangladesh captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto described his team’s first Test win over Pakistan as ‘special’ in the current circumstances in the country. In a press conference after the 10-wicket win over Pakistan, Shanto said, “This is a very important victory for us because the conditions were difficult for us in Bangladesh last month. There are still some problems there, but in Bangladesh we support each other and I am happy that this victory has brought a little smile on their faces.”
He said, “We are happy with our performance and we want to give more happiness to our people in the second match as well. This was a special victory for us, especially considering how we adapted to the hot conditions and pitch here. Shanto said that he was confident of winning the match on the last day as the pitch was becoming difficult to play and his team had some experienced spinners and good fast bowlers. He said, “I think Shakib and Miraz bowled very well today considering the conditions and we knew that with a lead of 90 runs, Pakistan would be under pressure on the last day.
