New Delhi. A historic test match was to be played between Afghanistan and New Zealand. Both the teams had reached Greater Noida Sports Complex ahead of time for this much-awaited test match. But their hopes seem to be dashed. The toss has not taken place yet in this test match to be played from 9th September. The game had to be ended without a toss on the third consecutive day. Now the question arises whether this test match will be held? Now only 2 days are left in this test match. On Wednesday, the third day, the situation was such that stumps were declared in the morning itself. Because due to continuous rain at night, the ground could not be made playable even during the day. It has been raining in Delhi and its nearby areas for the last few days. There is nothing in the name of facilities in this stadium of Greater Noida, due to which it is being criticized a lot.

The last two days i.e. the first and second day of the match also ended without a toss. This Test match can now be cancelled. They had to return to the hotel as soon as they came to the ground on the third day morning.

Talking about the first day, it rained heavily the night before the match. Due to which the play could not take place due to the wet outfield. The groundsmen tried their best to dry the outfield but they could not succeed in it. During this time the officials and umpires inspected the ground several times but finally stumps were declared.
On the second day, i.e. Tuesday, the groundsmen tried a different trick. The grass and ground of the outfield where the innings were gathered was dug up and the grass from the practice ground was planted there but even here they were not successful and finally the second day’s play had to be cancelled without a toss. Will the play be held on the fourth day or not? The decision will be taken only after the match officials inspect their ground. In India, people are also criticising the BCCI for such poor arrangements in the stadium.
