Elections 2024: Rajnath Singh and Smriti Irani’s Nominations Shine in UP’s High-Stakes Seats

A high-profile seat of Uttar Pradesh is in the highlight for the fifth phase. BJP’s power show also took place on the two most VIP seats of UP. BJP’s senior leader and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh from Lucknow filed his nomination, while a little while ago the MP from Amethi and Union Minister Smriti Irani has also filed her nomination.

On the other hand, Lalu Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya has also filed her nomination in Saran, Bihar. UP CM Yogi Adityanath was present with Rajnath Singh, whereas in Amethi, MPs were present in Smriti Irani’s nomination. While Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had reached Bihar’s Saran, Rohini Acharya along with father Lalu Yadav, mother Rabri Devi, sister Misa Bharti and brothers Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav had reached to file nomination, but today the most discussed seat is Amethi because it has once been a stronghold of Congress.

Rahul Gandhi has become MP from here thrice but in the last election, Smriti Irani had hoisted the saffron flag on the fort of Congress. Smriti Irani is again contesting from Amethi today on the streets of Bihar.

The entire road from Gauriganj BJP office to Collectorate was echoing with the slogans of Jai Shri Ram. Smriti Irani has filed her nomination from Amethi for the third time today. Earlier, she had also filed her nomination in 2014 and 2019 elections. When she had filed her nomination in the elections, she was a losing candidate to Rahul Gandhi, but this time she came to file her nomination as the sitting MP of Amethi and after filing her nomination.

Today, before filing nomination, Smriti Irani performed puja at her home. Earlier yesterday, she had also visited the Ram temple and had darshan of Ram Lala. From Amethi to Ayodhya, Smriti Irani went to the temple throughout the day yesterday.

If Rahul Gandhi had won in 2019 then Smriti won in the 2019 elections. There is hope for round three but Congress has not yet announced Rahul’s name while BSP has fielded its candidate from here. Have placed a bet on Ravi Prakash Maurya.

The CEC members present in the meeting said that both Also supported the candidates, but Rahul Gandhi is still in a dilemma about contesting elections from Amethi. Rahul’s first tension is that if three people from the Gandhi family are in Parliament together, it will send a wrong message. The second tension is that if He won the elections from Amethi and if he has to leave the Wayanad seat then it will also harm him.

The third tension is that if he leaves Amethi and contests from Rae Bareli then Smriti Irani will get the advantage and the fourth biggest tension is that if he contests from Amethi again. If he loses, his image will get a big dent, that is why Rahul Gandhi is not able to decide whether he should contest from Amethi or not, whereas BJP says that anyone from the Gandhi family can come.

In the 2022 elections, BJP had won three out of five assembly seats in Amethi. The caste factor of Amethi. Dalit, Muslim, and Brahmin votes are very important in Amethi. Dalits are at 26% here, Muslims are at around 20%, and Brahmins are at 18 percent.

Apart from this, Rajput is at 11 percent, if Yadav and Maurya are combined then they are at 16%, and Lodhi and Kurmi are at around 10%. To win Amethi, it is very important to cultivate this caste equation.
