Duleep Trophy 2024: All eyes will be on Rinku Singh and Shreyas Iyer in the second round of Duleep Trophy

All eyes will be on some experienced players, including Rinku Singh, who have been ignored by the national selectors, when the second round of the Duleep Trophy begins on Thursday. The Indian team players have been given rest before the first Test against Bangladesh starting on September 19 in Chennai, due to which many stars will not be able to play in the second round.

Sarfaraz Khan is the only member of the Indian team who will be seen in the second round of this domestic tournament. All eyes will be on Rinku, who was not selected in the first round despite his excellent first class record and has been performing well in T20 cricket for India. With Shubman Gill joining the Indian team, Mayank Agarwal will be the captain of the India A team.

Mayank, who played his last Test in March 2022, will have to perform well to raise his claim for selection in the national team again. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna could not play in the first round due to injury. He has been included in the India A team. In the India B team, captain Abhimanyu Easwaran will have to lead from the front, who flopped in the first round in Bengaluru last week.

Sarfaraz’s younger brother Mushir Khan had helped India B win over India A by scoring 181 runs in the first round. Now the elder brother will also be eyeing to play a big innings. Washington Sundar is also in the India B team. At the same time, Akash Deep was given preference over fast bowler Mukesh Kumar in the first Test, after which Mukesh would also like to prove his usefulness. India C openers Sai Sudarshan and Ruturaj Gaikwad would also like to score runs and attract the attention of the national selectors.

India D captain Shreyas Iyer will try to prove his worth by scoring runs after being dropped from the Test team. Similarly, Devdutt Padikkal and Sanju Samson will also be looking to impress with their performances.
