Yashvardhan Dalal got his name written in golden letters in the record books by playing a tremendous inning of 426 runs against Mumbai. In the Colonel CK Nayudu Trophy, Yashvardhan also hit 44 fours and 10 sixes in his marathon innings. After the end of the day’s play, Dalal was present at the crease.
400 runs added for the first wicket
Arsh had come to open for Haryana with Yashvardhan. He faced 311 balls and scored 151 runs. This innings of Arsh included 18 fours and 1 six. During this, there was a partnership of 410 runs between the two. Arsh contributed 151 runs in the partnership. When this partnership broke, Yashvardhan was playing on 243 runs. Although later the wickets started falling continuously, but Dalal held the contest firmly and made important half-century partnerships with Parth Nagil (25) and captain Sarvesh Rohilla (48). Dalal crossed many milestones with ease, crossing 250, 300 and 350 runs. In the evening session on the second day, he crossed the 400-run mark. After this, Dalal aimed to score runs quickly, because Haryana had already lost eight wickets. At stumps, he remained unbeaten on 426 runs off 463 balls, which included 46 fours and 12 sixes in his marathon innings.
Yashvardhan became the king of records
Although records are meant to be broken, Yashvardhan’s record is unmatched in many ways. Broker Colonel CK Nayudu became the highest run scorer in an innings in the history of the tournament. He broke the record of Uttar Pradesh’s Sameer Rizvi, who had scored 312 runs in the previous edition of the tournament. Yashvardhan has become a star overnight due to his amazing shot selection and perfection in batting.
