New Delhi. ICC can give its decision today on the proposed Champions Trophy in Pakistan. A virtual meeting of the International Cricket Council Board is going to be held today on Friday (29 November). Especially representatives of India and Pakistan will also participate in it. India has refused to visit Pakistan. After this there is panic in Pakistan. PCB wants to invite India under any circumstances but BCCI has told ICC that its team will not go to Pakistan. After India’s refusal to go to Pakistan, this tournament can be organized under hybrid model. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was given the hosting rights for the Champions Trophy in 2022. It is also expected that if Pakistan does not agree to the hybrid model, then hosting rights may be snatched away from it.
The ICC Board meeting is to be held in Dubai. This will happen at 4:00 pm according to Indian time. The most important issue in the meeting is regarding the Champions Trophy. Will this tournament be organized in Pakistan or somewhere else? The decision on this is expected today. The biggest challenge for the ICC will be to resolve this issue smoothly so that it can satisfy all its stakeholders. Especially Pakistan. However, there are more chances of reaching a consensus on the hybrid model.

BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla said on Friday that the Champions Trophy is also being considered under the hybrid model. Apart from this there are many other options. He said that the safety of Indian players is a priority for us, the decision will be taken on that basis.

Pakistan does not accept hybrid model
ICC has called a virtual meeting of the executive members to resolve the issues related to the Champions Trophy schedule. A source said, ‘I can confirm that the PCB has told the ICC a few hours ago that the ‘hybrid model’ of the tournament is not acceptable. Cricket experts believe that this stubborn stand of Pakistan can become a major obstacle in hosting the Champions Trophy. The PCB is opposing the ‘hybrid model’ and has advised the ICC to find some other option to organize the Champions Trophy and not the hybrid model.
This fear is haunting PCB
PCB believes that playing in the ‘hybrid model’ would mean giving preference to India. The source said, ‘If the Indian team could not play in Pakistan, then in this situation the PCB had initially considered the possibility of playing in the ‘hybrid model’. But in the future, till 2031 (ODI World Cup in India and Bangladesh), all ICC tournaments to be held in India will be played in ‘hybrid model’ only because Pakistan will not play in India.
