Buchi Babu Tournament: All eyes will be on Suryakumar, Shreyas and Sarfaraz

Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav would like to perform well in the Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament to get his Test career back on track, in which his team Mumbai will face TNCA XI in the match starting here on Tuesday. Shreyas Iyer is also a part of the Mumbai team and he too will try to attract the attention of the selectors by performing well in this tournament to be held at the beginning of the season.

Iyer played his last Test match in February. Mumbai’s team, which has many star players, will be led by Sarfaraz Khan, for whom it will not be easy to make a place in the Test team after the return of all the top players. Sarfaraz impressed with his performance by making his Test debut against England earlier this year.

Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant missed the five-Test series against England due to different reasons but they are likely to be available for the two-Test series against Bangladesh starting in Chennai from September 19. In the third round of the Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament, all eyes will definitely be on Suryakumar, who played his only Test match against Australia in February 2023.

Suryakumar then performed consistently well in limited overs cricket. The Buchi Babu tournament will serve as practice for Suryakumar and other star players for the Duleep Trophy. The Duleep Trophy will start on September 5. Suryakumar played his last first-class match in the Duleep Trophy last year. Then he was able to score only 71 runs in four innings. Sarfaraz made his Test debut against England earlier this year. He scored 200 runs in five innings at an average of 50, including three half-centuries.
