Police on Monday arrested the second accused in the Pune gangrape case. There was an incident of gang rape with a 21 year old girl. According to Kondwa police station, this incident took place on the night of 3 October in Bopdev Ghat area. The victim had gone to the ghat with her friend, where she was gang-raped by three men at around 11 pm.

Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said the state government will set up the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub here to promote entrepreneurship and remember the legacy of the former Tata Group chief. Supreme Court refuses to consider petition against LG’s right to nominate 5 MLAs in J&K
The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain a plea challenging the power of the Jammu and Kashmir LG to nominate five Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Union Territory Assembly. The bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar refused to consider the petition.
The bench asked petitioner Ravinder Kumar Sharma to first approach the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court. Petitioner’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that such nomination of an unelected LG could influence the election decision.
The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019 and the subsequent Amendment Bill gave additional powers to the LG in 2023, including nominating five members to the assembly. These 5 nominated members will have the same powers and voting rights as other MLAs. Congress, National Conference (NC) and PDP opposed it and called it an attack on democracy.

Supreme Court refuses to hear petition against MLA nomination by LG in Jammu and Kashmir
The Supreme Court refused to hear the petition challenging the nomination of 5 MLAs by the Lieutenant Governor in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. The bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna has asked the petitioner to approach the High Court.
Actually, after the removal of Article 370, LG can nominate 5 MLAs in the Assembly under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act-2019. This rule was brought to represent women, Kashmiri Pandits and PoK.
Meeting of Meitei-Kuki community MLAs in Delhi on October 15, discussion on peace in Manipur
Amidst the Manipur violence, there will be a meeting of MLAs from Meitei and Kuki communities in Delhi tomorrow i.e. on 15th October. In Maharashtra, father raped minor daughter thrice, case registered
A case has been registered against a man in Thane, Maharashtra for raping his 17 year old daughter. The case dates back to May 2022, when the family was living in a village in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, when a 40-year-old father raped his daughter while she was sleeping. Three months ago the family shifted to Shil-Phata in Thane. Here also the father raped the daughter twice. The victim lodged a police complaint on Sunday.
