Big stars will play in Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament, eyes on Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer

Coimbatore. Before the Test series against Bangladesh, Indian players are staking their claim. Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer, who were dropped from the Test team, will play in domestic tournaments to impress the selectors and make a place in the team. Both of them would like to perform well in the Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament to get their Test career back on track. Their team Mumbai will face TNCA XI in the match starting on Tuesday.

Shreyas Iyer is also a part of the Mumbai team and he will also try to attract the attention of the selectors by performing well in this tournament to be held at the beginning of the season. Iyer played his last Test match in February. Sarfaraz Khan will captain the Mumbai team which has many star players. After the return of all the top players, it will not be easy for him to make a place in the Test team. Sarfaraz impressed with his performance by making his Test debut against England earlier this year.

Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant could not play in the five-Test series against England due to different reasons. They are likely to be available for the two-Test series against Bangladesh starting in Chennai from September 19. In the third round match of the Buchi Babu Cricket Tournament, all eyes will definitely be on Suryakumar, who played his only Test match against Australia in February 2023.

Suryakumar then performed consistently well in limited overs cricket. The Buchi Babu tournament will serve as practice for Suryakumar and other star players for the Duleep Trophy. The Duleep Trophy will begin on September 5. Suryakumar played his last first-class match in the Duleep Trophy last year. Then he was able to score only 71 runs in four innings.
