Recently Dainik Bhaskar had revealed that Pooja Entertainment founder and famous film producer Vasu Bhagnani has frozen Rs 7.3 crore of film director Ali Abbas Zafar. Besides, he has also not paid the crew members’ money.
In his investigation, Bhaskar had found that Ali had also filed a complaint against Vasu in the Directors Association.
Now Dainik Bhaskar’s news has had an impact and the stuck money of the crew members associated with the film Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan has also started being received. However, this money was not paid by Vasu Bhagnani’s company Pooja Entertainments but by Ali Abbas Zafar. Many artists associated with the film have spoken in favor of Ali on this matter.
Ali had directed the film ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ under Vasu’s banner Pooja Entertainments, for which he has not received the payment yet.
Not Vasu Bhagnani, Ali Abbas Zafar paid the money
In fact, recently Vasu had also accused Ali of misusing the subsidy funds received during the shooting of the film in Abu Dhabi. Now the crew members and artistes have come forward saying that Ali has paid their dues with the subsidy money.
The name of the film’s action director Parvez Shaikh is also included in these. Thanking Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra on social media, he wrote, Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra have given all my payments through the Movie Stunt Artists Association from the subsidy received from Abu Dhabi for the film Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan.
Steven Bernard, who was the editor of the film, said, while working on Pooja Entertainment’s film Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan, we all faced a common problem which was related to payment. While working day and night on a project, everyone feels that they should get their fees in full on time, but in the end, when a lot of money remains outstanding and the money is stuck for five months after the release of the film, then there is a problem. I followed up a lot because I needed money due to my father’s ill health. During this time, Ali Abbas Zafar supported me and assured me that I would get my wages. Finally, within a week of receiving the subsidy from Abu Dhabi, Ali Abbas Zafar paid me the entire amount due to me.
Apart from these two artists, about 10 crew members took to social media to thank Ali Abbas Zafar and his team for clearing the dues. These include Khalid (Actor), Shaurya Kohli (Assistant Director), Deeksha Pradhan (Assistant Director), Saurabh Kumar (Associate Director), Sahab (Actor), Anurag Pandey (Associate Editor), Malvika Bajaj (Costume Designer), Roheed Khan (Actor). ) and Markin (DOP). According to reports, choreographer Bosco Martis has also been found guilty of paying dues from Abu Dhabi subsidy.
According to sources, the dues of about 150 vendors, technicians and crew members will be cleared by the end of this week.
On this matter, President of Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) BN Tiwari said, Dainik Bhaskar has made a huge contribution in the campaign of paying the dues to the film artists. We shared with him information related to this matter which he raised prominently. Many times we were pressurized not to share any information in this matter but we knew that the money of many people was stuck, hence the Federation of Western India Cine Employees did not remain silent and now the payments have started getting cleared, so we are happy.
