Benjamin Netanyahu took a big decision amid the war with Hezbollah… ‘Enemy’ became friend, government also became stronger

New Delhi: Israel’s war with Hezbollah continues in Lebanon. Benjamin Netanyahu is continuously hurting Hezbollah and Iran. Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu has taken a decision which has made his government stronger. Now it will be easier for them to take decisions. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made the person who was considered his staunch opponent his friend. Yes, Benjamin Netanyahu has expanded his alliance. Strengthening his hold on the government, he included his former rival Gideon Saar in his cabinet.

Benjamin Netanyahu said that under the agreement, Gideon Saar will serve as a minister without portfolio and will join the Security Cabinet, which oversees the management of Israel’s ongoing war against its enemies in the Middle East. Gideon Saar, 57, was expected to replace Defense Minister Yoav Galant, another rival of Benjamin Netanyahu, but Galant will remain in office for now as fighting with Hezbollah on Israel’s northern border intensifies.

Gideon Saar has had a strained relationship with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He was once a rising star in Netanyahu’s Likud party, but four years ago he left the party and formed his own party. After this, he became a staunch critic of Benjamin Netanyahu and wanted to topple the government. When Benjamin Netanyahu was criticized regarding the hostages in the war with Hamas, he also criticized. But now both of them are part of the same government.

In recent months, Saar has said that Israel must fight until Hamas is destroyed. He also demanded strict action against Hezbollah’s sponsor Iran. Like Netanyahu, he also strongly opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state. Benjamin Netanyahu and Saar said in a joint statement that they had put aside their differences for the good of the nation. With Saar’s inclusion in the cabinet, Netanyahu’s majority coalition has a total of 68 seats in the 120-seat parliament. (input agency)
